About Us

Columbus Christian School is a non-denominational Pre - 8th Grade Christian School.

Serving and providing Columbus and the surrounding area with quality Christian education since 1994.

Our History

In January of 1994, 15 couples from the Columbus area met to discuss the possibility of starting a Christian school. After committees researched the areas of faculty, curriculum, legal issues, available facilities and finances, it was decided to begin a Rule 10 (Approved) school in the fall of 1994, being non-denominational but Bible-oriented and Christ-centered.

Through prayer and the study of God's Word, the school's name, vision, purpose, standards and statement of faith were formulated, with the goal of becoming an effective, united ministry, providing the Columbus area families with affordable Christian education.

Our Academics

At CCS, we are traditional in our approach to education. Our ministry is to train young people in the Bible, Christian character, language, and traditional subject matter.

Our students need to be trained in the way they should go (Prov. 22:6) so they will have a firm foundation from which to evaluate the present and make proper decisions for the future.

For this purpose, we use mostly A BEKA BOOK and BJU Press publications. For our math program we have incorporated the highly acclaimed Saxon Math Series. Computer classes, art, music and physical education are also important aspects of out total training at CCS.

Bible is the most important subject in the Christian school so it is taught daily and systematically to all students. Our goal is to provide students with a firm foundation for life and a shield against error. Chapel services and Christian service also provide opportunities for our students to serve the Lord and apply what they learn.

The school library contains excellent, well-chosen literature and reference materials, and is fully catalogued.

Testimonials

"We knew right away that CCS would be the perfect school for our children. We love that our kids are surrounded by loving Christian kids and adults on a daily basis and learn about Christ's love every day. We just feel very blessed to have the opportunity to receive a Christian education in the town where we chose to raise our family."

Brent and Jaci Behlen

"We love the small class atmosphere. We knew we wanted our children to have the opportunity to learn and study God's Word and truth in their daily classes to reinforce what we teach them at home."

Jon and Angie Paul

"Quality education and small class size were part of the consideration for Christian education, but also, we chose CCS because we wanted our children in an environment that would support what we taught them spiritually at home. "Prayer and Bible reading are still a part of their daily life at school and they have been encouraged to take everything to the Lord.

Our Staff

The Bible says, "A pupil...after he has been fully trained will be like his teacher."
Luke 6:40

Therefore, CCS chooses teachers whose life style is patterned after Christ Himself.
All teachers hold current Nebraska Teaching Credentials from the Department of Education and are qualified to meet the educational and spiritual needs of children.

Our staff includes one administrator, one part-time administrative assistant, three full-time teachers, and four part-time teachers, allowing us a low pupil/teacher ratio.
